Sand for C6 tuning Lap Steel. Modified for D11 tuning

by Joel Katz on February 23, 2016

This is a work on progress. Please try it out and let me know what you think. I’ll make a video demo once it’s done. This is similar to what I played on my first CD, Probably better because I was really a beginner then.
I adapted my standard C6 tuning with a high G. I use an 8 string and add a few notes on my 7th string when I play it but I tabbed this for 6 string and it will give you all you need.
Just tune the lower G string ( my 5th string) down a half step to F# and you have the essence of the B11 tuning but 3 frets higher. This should get you started on the locations to get a sweet sound. Enjoy and let me know how it goes. I have a backing track for it too. Aloha, Joel

Joel,
This is MARVELOUS! The sound is amazing! The variety of music is very appealing, and your steel guitar flows like honey over my soul. Love the variety you have chosen! Thank you! I am ordering your cd immediately!
